Join us for a brand new workshop series led by Robert Holtom, writer of 'Dumbledore is so Gay' - write a short play! Well work together in a supportive and collaborative environment, while we unpack what makes a great script. Over 4 sessions we will: Explore character, plot, drama, world-building and theme Examine dialogue and different ways of writing voices Do practical and interactive exercises to build our skills Explore how to represent diversity and intersectionality within the text Write our very own individual short plays! The course runs on Tuesdays evenings 7pm - 8.30pm from the 19th Sep - 17th Oct, with a break on the 10th October for writing your final piece. The course costs just 60 for all 4 sessions (or if you just want to dip in for one session, you can book a day pass for 15). The session schedule is as follows: Week 1: exploring and creating characters Week 2: world-building and plotting Week 3: dialogue, diversity and psychological depth Week 4: break for writing the final piece Week 5: finding the story, thinking of the audience, editing & redrafting Robert is a communications coach and prize-winning playwright. Their play, Dumbledore Is So Gay, is playing at the Southwark Playhouse from 16th August 23rd September.
